Spain forward of Ghanaian descent, Nico Williams has deactivated his social media accounts less than 24 hours after Athletic Bilbao suffered elimination from this season’s Cope del Rey.

The attacker was in action for his club on Tuesday night in the semi-final second-leg fixture in the Cope del Rey against Osasuna.

Unfortunately, Nico Williams had a bad day at the office and failed to make good use of several good goal-scoring opportunities.

After a 2-1 aggregate defeat to Osasuna, Athletic Bilbao has been knocked out of this season’s Copa del Rey.

This did not go down well with some fans of Bilbao who immediately took to social media to abuse the young Nico Williams.

Unable to take the online attacks, the winger has been forced to deactivate his social media accounts.

Meanwhile, his big brother Inaki Williams has been encouraging him. According to the Black Stars forward, Nico will come out of this stronger.

"I know what he is going through, this is a learning experience for him, we will support him,” Inaki Williams said after the Osasuna defeat.
