The Navarrese footballer from Athletic Club Oihan Sancet wants the Spanish international Nico Williams to ignore advances from other clubs and stay at Bilbao.
" I don't know what idea he has, but I want to have him with me because he is a great player and share a lot of time with him on the pitch, I hope he stays here at Athletic," Sancet told Radio Popular de Bilbao.
Nico Williams has been sensational for the Spanish La Liga side this season. His performance got the attention of Spain National Team boss Luis Enrique who added the youngster to his squad for two Nations League games in September.
On November 17 he scored his first goal for the national team in a friendly against Jordan.
Williams first represented Spain with the under-18 squad in 2020, scoring two goals in four games. He was called up to the Spain under-19s in February 2021, and made his debut for the under-21s in September of the same year.
Nico Williams was part of the team that exited the ongoing 2022 World Cup at the round of 16 stage. Morocco beat Spain on penalties on the 6th of December.
