Former Ghana President John Mahama has called on the Black Stars to remain resolute when they face Nigeria this evening in the crucial World Cup play-off second leg.

The Super Eagles play host to the Black Stars at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium after a pulsating 0-0 draw at the Baba Yara Stadium last Friday.

Ghana arrived in Abuja with 26 players on Monday afternoon to prepare for the second leg tie today.

Ahead of the blockbuster clash, the former Ghana President has urged the Black Stars to defeat Nigeria to qualify for the biggest soccer mundial to be staged in Qatar.

“Ghana vrs Nigeria… the friendship is strong, and the history is rich,” Mahama said in a Facebook post.

“I urge the Black Stars to be resolute today to qualify Ghana for the FIFA 2022 World Cup tournament in Qatar.

“Go Black Stars Go!”

The game will take place at Moshood Abiola National Stadium and will kick off at 17:00 GMT.

A scoring draw will see Ghana qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup mundial in Qatar in November this year whiles Nigeria needs a win to make it at the expense of Ghana.

Nigeria are in search of their 7th World Cup qualification whereas Ghana chase their 4th qualification.
