No need to worry - Andre Ayew assures after Black Stars failure to score in friendlies

Ghana skipper, Andre Dede Ayew has called for calm despite the Black Stars inability to score a single goal against Morocco and Ivory Coast.

In two international friendlies played, the Black Stars failed to score losing to Morocco in Rabat before drawing 0-0 with Ivory Coast at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The lack of goals have raised an eyebrow ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon].

However, Dede Ayew believes friendly games should not be the measuring rod.

“I think this [against Ivory Coast] was a different sort of game and it was a friendly coming up," the former Swansea City ace said after the game against Ivory Coast on Saturday.

“We know what’s ahead of us, some of us have played a lot of qualification games and we know what’s ahead and we will be ready, we are not worried.

“We would have wanted to win the two games but we are not worried," he added.

Ghana have World Cup qualifying assignment in September. The Stars opened their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
