Nora Hauptle has done well as Black Queens coach - Gifty Oware-Mensah

The Chairperson of the Black Queens management committee, Gifty Oware-Mensah, says head coach of the team, Nora Hauptle has done well in her role since taking over.

The Swiss trainer has lost just one game in the eleven games she has supervised, losing just the latest one against Namibia but has secured Ghana’s first qualification to the Africa Cup of Nations after five years.

They have scored 34 goals while conceding only two.

Nora took over as head coach of the women's national team a year ago, following technical changes that saw Mercy Tagoe replaced.

In an interview with Joy Sports, Oware-Mensah commended Hauptle's performance but emphasized the need to evaluate her once she departs, stating, "Nora has done well. I am not the type that goes out quickly to say people have done so well because until it's done, never say never.

“For football, it's a win, lose or draw. We will win some, lose some and draw some. So far if we are to rate her, she's done well but I will only rate her after she's left the stage."

The Black Queens are currently gearing up for the first leg of their third-round qualifier for the 2024 Olympic Games against Zambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, February 23rd.
