The veteran Black Stars attacker picked up the injury while in action for his side last month when they lost 3-0 to ATK.

Subsequent checks and assessment has revealed that the former Al Ain forward will spend a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Due to that, NorthEast United has ventured into the market to find a replacement for Asamoah Gyan. The Indian Super League club is understood to be in advanced talks with experienced Irish striker Andy Keogh.
