Nuno ponders his options

Published on: 09 March 2019

Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that goalkeeper Rui Patricio will return to the Wolves side for Sunday's Premier League clash against Chelsea.

John Ruddy started last weekend's match against Cardiff City and kept a clean sheet in the 2-0 win but Portugal international Patricio will be in goal against the Blues.

Nuno has also indicated that young defender Max Kilman could be involved at Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old could replace central defender Ryan Bennett who is suspended after picking up his 10th booking of the season against the Bluebirds.

"Even though it's a small squad the versatility of the players allows us to be comfortable when these things happen. We know this can happen any time," said Nuno.

"When we go back to having the idea of 16 outfield players we need enough versatility in the players to allow them to do different positions.

"At the same time, we have the back-up of Max [Kilman]. He's been involved, he has talent, let’s prep're them. He's going to be on the list and every player who is on the list could be involved in the game."

Wolves are 6/1 to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and 9/2 to keep a clean sheet against Maurizio Sarri's team. Meanwhile, Wolves are 10/1 to win the FA Cup this season.
