The wonder club has struggled in recent weeks after losing back to back home games against Tema Youth and Liberty Professionals before suffering another defeat to Aduana Stars on the road.

This has left the Accra Based club languishing in the relegation zone just a season after they gained promotion.

However, Great Olympics ended the run of bad results with an emphatic 2-0 win on Sunday after Benjamin Arthur and second round signing Coffie Bekoe scored two brilliant goals for the club.

Swedish trainer Tom Strand indicated he was happy with the results after a run of poor form without a win.

“We are doing our job, everybody is doing their part and everybody here has a role to play and they are doing it well,” he said.

“We are also taking our chances, so this is a good day for us. Of course it’s been a long time since we won so we are satisfied today and we are still in the race to avoid relegation.” He added.

Accra Great Olympics are rooted on 15th position and the wins will serve as a morale booster as they continue with the fight to escape the drop.
