Orlando Pirates legend Lucky Lekgwathi urges club to sign Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori

Orlando Pirates legend Lucky Lekgwathi has backed the club to complete the signing of Ghanaian shot-stopper Richard Ofori in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Ofori has been linked with a summer move to several clubs including Belgian Pro Jupiler League side Gent as well as Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns in the ABSA Premier League.

He has been one of the standout players for Maritzburg, conceding just 17 goals with only Mamelodi Sundowns having given away fewer goals with 15 strikes against them.

The 26-year-old has kept an impressive 10 clean sheets in 24 matches and is only one behind SuperSport United’s Ronwen Williams who tops the table with 11.

His impressive displays have also earned him a nomination for the 2019/20 South Africa Premier League Best Player awards.

"First the goalkeeper Richard Ofori, I like the guy you know. Sometimes I wish I was still playing alongside him. He’s one of the players I need at Orlando Pirates," Lekgwathi told KickOff.com.
