Orlando Pirates reveals injury return date of Ghana goalkeeper Richard Ofori

Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori is set to remain sidelined for an extended period to treat a knee injury, Orlando Pirates have disclosed.

Ofori, who missed the 2022 World Cup due to injury was expected to return to action by the start of the 2023 calendar year.

But Footballghana.com has gathered that the deputy captain of the Black Stars will remain out until mid to late January.

Ofori is one of four players listed to return by the aforementioned period by Orlando Pirates.

Tebogo Tlolane (nursing an MCL tear) Olisa Ndah (dealing with a niggle) and Thembinkosi Lorch (dealing with a knock) are listed out at the moment.

The Ofori led quartet missed Orlando Pirates’ 0-2 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in the first round of games following the resumption of South Africa’s DSTV League.

Ofori was in line to be named in the Black Stars World Cup squad until aggravating a knee injury in Orlando Pirates win in the MTN Final 8 Final.
