Abdul Faisal, a high-performance specialist with FIFA's Global Football Development Division, is advocating for support for Otto Addo, the newly appointed head coach of Ghana's national football team, the Black Stars.

Addo, a former Ghanaian international player, has returned to lead the senior national team on a 34-month contract. His first challenge will be against Nigeria and Uganda in international friendly matches scheduled to take place in Morocco later this month.

Speaking in an interview, Faisal praised Addo's coaching abilities and potential, emphasizing the need to grant him time to achieve success with the Black Stars.

"I was impressed with Otto Addo's performance during the World Cup, considering the condition of the team at that time," Faisal told Asempa FM as monitored by Footballghana.com.

"When he took charge, he began the process of rebuilding the team, but he had limited time to work with. He possesses significant coaching potential, and I believe we should afford him the opportunity to demonstrate it. By supporting Otto Addo, we can create a positive and conducive environment for him to work effectively," he added.

According to the Football Association, Otto Addo will be offered a 24-month extension if he meets performance expectations.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars are set to commence training camp in Morocco today in preparation for the upcoming friendly matches.
