Former Ghana attacker, Charles Taylor, has raised concerns about the possible reappointment of Otto Addo as the coach of the national team, the Black Stars.

There are reports suggesting that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is considering Addo, who currently works as a talent coach at Borussia Dortmund, as its top choice for the head coach position.

This development follows the dismissal of Chris Hughton, who was sacked following the Black Stars' underwhelming performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

To select a new coach, the GFA has assembled a five-member committee tasked with recommending candidates to the Executive Council.

Mark Addo, who leads the search team, has not yet made a final decision despite receiving over 500 applications, including one from Otto Addo.

Charles Taylor, who previously played for Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, has expressed doubt about Addo's potential reappointment.

Taylor claims that Addo's previous tenure as Black Stars coach did not yield positive results.

"Nothing good will come from Otto Addo. He has coached the team before, and there is nothing positive you could pinpoint from his first stint," Taylor said in an interview with Accra-based Onua FM.

Taylor also questioned whether the GFA should consider previous coaches who have led Ghana to World Cup qualifications for the role.

"Does that mean we should consider all past coaches who qualified us for the World Cup?" he quizzed.
