Ousmane Dembele Had Already Decided on Dortmund Before Meeting Jurgen Klopp

Ousmane Dembele has revealed that he had already decided to join Borussia Dortmund before Jurgen Klopp's last gasp attempt to lure him to Liverpool, reportsFourFourTwo.


Liverpool, along with Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester City were all thought to be interested in the young Frenchman.

The 19-year-old signed a five year deal with Dortmund instead, joining a host of extremely talented youngsters, including Christian Pulisic, Aleksander Isak, Julian Weigl, Raphael Geurreiro, and Jacob Bruun Larsen.


The French international has impressed at BVB since joining from Rennes, where he scored 12 goals in 26 Ligue 1 games in 2015/16.

Dembele said that: "I saw Klopp in Paris but I told him I'd made up my mind to sign for BVB."

The French international also snubbed Claudio Ranieri when he attempted to persuade him to come to Leicester.


It was reported that Ranieri's inability to speak French dissuaded Dembele from joining the Foxes, but when asked about that,he said:No, Ranieri speaks French from when he coached Monaco. I made the decision a long time ago, so going to Leicester was out of the question.�


The 19-year-old has been capped three times by France, and has scored six goals in 31 appearancesfor Dortmund, as well as turning supplier 12 times.
