Paris Saint-Germain star Georginio Wijnaldum pays courtesy call on National Chief Imam

Dutch and Paris Saint-Germain star Georginio Wijnaldum has paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, Sheik Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.

The former Liverpool star have been in Ghana with compatriot Memphis Depay for the summer holidays.

The pair have been involved in several activities since arriving in the West African country weeks ago. They helped in funding the renovation of a boxing gym in Accra as well as visiting the Cape Coast school for the deaf.

On Monday, Wijnaldum, who spent last season on loan at AS Roma called on the National Chief Imam.

"Very grateful to meet the incredibly inspiring 104 year old Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, the Chief Imam of Ghana and member of the National Peace Council," he posted on Twitter.

Wijnaldum was formerly known as Boateng after spending time with a Ghanaian family

The former Liverpool midfielder was born to Surinamese parents in Holland but was raised by a Ghanaian father.

The 32-year-old will be joining his Paris Saint-Germain teammates later this month for pre-season ahead of the new Ligue 1 season.
