SV Darmstadt 98 announced on Wednesday that Patric Pfeiffer and Aaron Seydel are out. The players had been injured in the training camp and were now diagnosed in Germany.

The lilies stated that Pfeiffer was diagnosed with a toe fracture and Seydel suffered a torn tendon in his thigh.

Carsten Wehlmann, the sporting director of the SV Darmstadt 98 said: "The absences cloud a training camp that is otherwise outstanding in all facets. We hope that Paddy, Aaron and Klaus will soon be back on the pitch and able to help us." The club will "fully support and accompany the injured on this path. As much as the injuries to these important players hurt, our trust in the squad is huge. We are fully convinced that we can make up for the failures like in the first half of the season."

Patric Pfeiffer has played 15 times in the league and is one of the most prolific defenders with four goals. However, the 23-year-old central defender would have missed the start against SSV Jahn Regensburg on January 28 anyway due to a yellow card suspension.

Aaron Seydel has made seven appearances so far in the league, with the attacker scoring one goal in 71 minutes. The 26-year-old was absent at the start of the season due to meningitis. A muscle injury stopped him at the end of the first half of the season.
