Patrick Twumasi overtaken by young professional Lawrence Ennali

Patrick Twumasi has not yet played a competitive minute under Jan Zimmermann. In the meantime, youngster Lawrence Ennali has overtaken him - and now Linton Maina is returning to the squad after surviving the forced Corona break. The Ghanaian has to stand in line for the time being.

Patrick Twumasi won the duel against left-back talent Jan-Erik Eichhorn in training yesterday. Preparatory work Twumasi, overhead kick Moussa Doumbouya, goal. Eichhorn promptly got the whistle from team-mate Marvin Ducksch ("Ey, Beppo, it's training!").

At Twumasi, 96 coach Jan Zimmermann also gave a signal afterwards. Not a positive one. The Ghanaian, so far without playing time with Zimmermann, has to queue up. Even young professional Lawrence Ennali (19) has overtaken him.

Ennali took the chance and will get opportunities

Zimmermann again renounced a Twumasi substitution in the Cup in Norderstedt (4-0). "I'm going after my training performance," said Zimmermann, explaining the decision. 96 would also give up Twumasi. Unlike Ennali, who is also at home on the piano. The 19-year-old didn't play in Norderstedt, just like Twumasi, but "he took his chance, he'll get his opportunities, that's clear," said the coach.

On Friday, Linton Maina will also be allowed to leave the corona quarantine after 14 days. Zimmermann indicated that he would like to take Maina with him to Dresden. "If you have been riding your bike individually for 14 days at home, the stress is different, and then you have to be careful," he said, "but you always have ten minutes in there." Not a good sign for Twumasi either.
