The Black Queens of Ghana are back in the country following their triumphant qualification to play at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.

Ghana faced off with Namibia on Tuesday in the second leg of the final round of the qualifiers for next year’s WAFCON.

In a game played in South Africa, the Black Queens wasted several goal-scoring opportunities and lost by a goal to nil at the end of the 90 minutes.

Before that crucial game, Ghana had won the first leg 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Courtesy of a 3-2 aggregate win, the Black Queens for the first time in five years secured qualification to play at the Women’s AFCON.

Today, the technical team and the playing body as well as other officials have safely returned to Ghana.

The team was welcomed by the President of the Ghana FA, some executive council members, and supporters at the Kotoka International Airport.
