Attacker Kevin-Prince Boateng has officially signed a contract with Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin.

Following a short stay with AC Monza in Italy, the 34-year-old joined the club on a free transfer.

The former Barcelona player returns to the club where his professional career began.

Boateng will wear jersey no. 27 under manager Pal Dardai. In his first interview, he revealed why he wanted to return to the Berlin-based club.

“Hertha BSC is not just any club for me,” Kevin-Prince Boateng said.

“I'm here to give something back. I've been around a lot over the years and learned a lot, but all that, my whole career, I owe to this club. I have never forgotten that Hertha was always in my heart.”

Boateng started his professional at Olympiastadion before signing a four-year contract with Tottenham Hotspur in July 2007 for an estimated £5.4 million.

Borussia Dortmund, Portsmouth, Genoa, AC Milan, Schalke 04, Las Palmas, Eintracht Frankfurt, Sassuolo, Barcelona, Fiorentina, and Besiktas are among the clubs he has played for.
