Black Princesses attacker, Mafia Nyame has called on Ghanaians to continue supporting the team ahead of the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

After qualifying for a seventh consecutive FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, the Ghana U20 women’s national team will be competing in Columbia next month.

Speaking to the media team of the Ghana FA, Mafia Nyame has disclosed that she hopes to make her mark at the tournament.

“It is always an honour to be called to the national team to serve the nation wholeheartedly. I represented Ghana at the 2022 edition but it didn’t go as planned and this is an opportunity to go and make history. Everyone in camp is doing well to make it in the final squad to the World Cup. There are many talented players here and everyone is putting in extra work.

“I featured in only one game as a sub in Costa Rica and hopefully if I make it to this year’s World Cup, I’ll go and do well to leave a mark,” Mafia Nyame said.

For the Black Princesses to do well at the tournament, she has called on Ghanaians to keep supporting the team.

“We urge Ghanaians to keep supporting us like they always do and we will continue to make them proud,” Mafia Nyame stated.

The FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup is scheduled for Columbia from Saturday, August 31 to Sunday, September 22, 2024.

The Black Princesses are in Group E and will face off with Australia, Japan, and New Zealand.
