President Cup: Hearts and Kotoko to battle on July 1

Premier League giants Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko are set to renew another rivalry on July 1 when they engage each other in this year's President’s Cup,Footballghana.com can confirm.

Holders Hearts have won the trophy consecutively after defeating Medeama 2-0 in 2014 and a 5-4 penalty win to retain it against Kotoko last year after a goalless draw in regulation time.

A source closer to the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) confirmed that the two best clubs of the land will battle each other even though no official statement has been issued by the former or the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS).

The President’s Cup is meant to honour the sitting president of Ghana on the Republic Day.
