President for the Ghana Coaches Association, Professor Joseph Mintah has urged the GFA not to resume football activities due to coronavirus pandemic.

The 2019/20 league season has been halted since mid-March as part of measures to help curb the spread of the disease.

The President of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo recently extended the ban on sporting activities to July 31, however, the FA has set June 30 as the date they decide the future of the league.

Mintah, speaking to Happy FM in an interview said our situation is different from that of the European countries who have already resume football activities.

"Personally I will say no looking at our current situation", he stated.

"There are some protocols that must be adhered to such as testing and camping players. My concern is that an average Ghanaian player is not disciplined unlike the European and it will be difficult for them to even follow the protocols."

The GFA proposed weekly testing of all players and also training in smaller groups but did not meet the expectation of the government.

The Premier League was at its match week 15 stage when it was halted with Aduana Stars leading the table with 28 points.
