Ending an eight-game winless streak, the Reds bounced back to winning form as they hosted the Premier League leaders at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday for Matchday 27.

Following a goalless first half, Kotoko secured a 1-0 win with Enock Morrison converting a penalty.

The victory has lifted Kotoko to 10th place on the Premier League table with 36 points.

In his post-match comments, Prosper Ogum lauded his players for their tenacity and execution of the game plan.

"I’m impressed with our performance today; we looked very solid in defense, dangerous in attack, and exploited spaces behind their defense, which shows our intent to defend, create chances, and score," he said.

He added, "Winning is what matters most, especially when coaching a team like Asante Kotoko. It doesn’t matter how stylishly you play; if you don’t secure the three points, it's not enough."

Asante Kotoko will face defending champions Medeama SC in their upcoming Matchday 28 fixture at Akoon Park this weekend.
