Real Madrid Reportedly Add Tottenham Star to Growing List of Summer Targets Post-Transfer Ban

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris could be the subject of a summer bid from Spanish giants Real Madrid after reports emerged that he could be an easier capture than fellow Premier League stoppers, Thibaut Courtois and David de Gea.

The Chelsea number one in particularhas been linked with an end of season switch to the Bernabeu in recent weeks, with Madrid reportedly in the market for a new long term 'keeper.

But should an attempt to sign the Belgian international be rebuffed, los Blancos could turn their attention to Lloris, according to the Telegraph, who would fit their bracket of 'world class.'

Courtois recently declared that he was 'the happiest he'd ever been' at Stamford Bridge, having had a solid season between the sticks in the Premier Leagueso far.

It is understood that the Blues want to capitalise on those feelings of contentment by offering the former Atletico Madrid 'keeper a new deal, to help fend off the likes of Madrid.

The situation with Courtois has prompted the Spanish club to sound out Lloris as an alternative signing - the 30-year old is not understood to be wanting to leave White Hart Lane, but could still be the subject of a transfer bid as soon as Madrid's transfer embargo is lifted in the summer.

The France international only signed a new deal in December until 2022, meaning Spurs would be able to command a large fee should they unexpectedly wish to sell.

The highest fee ever paid for a goalkeeper remains the £32.6m by Juventus for legend Gianluigi Buffon from Parma back in 2001 - and negotiations for Lloris would likely have to start around that price should Madrid be serious about prising him away from Spurs.

Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy have been productive in handing top stars new contracts throughout the current season, and with the club on course for another Champions League finish, there is a good chance they will be able to hold on to their prized assets - including Lloris.
