Real Madrid's James Rodriguez Responds to Injury Concerns: 'They Need to Relax'

MidfielderJames Rodriguez has surprisingly alreadyreturned to training, after recovering from a knockthat kept him out of Real Madrid's Champions League epic 3-3 draw withLegia Warsaw on Wednesday.


In an interview withRCN,the Colombian revealed the groin problem that had sidelined him was not asserious as first fearedand was keen toassure fans that he wouldbe available for Real's squad forLa Liga action this weekend.


I am fine. It's not what they were saying, that I was badly injured. It was only something minor,� James said. They need to relax. I am fine and I am training.�


In fact, the World Cup Golden Boot winner explained that he could've been involved on Wednesday's European action but for some pragmatic thinking by the medical team.


"I wanted to play in the Champions League, but I have to be intelligent. When you feel something you have to stop a little. I spoke to the medical staff and I sat out a day, but now I'm training and I'll be ready for the weekend."

The 25-year-old former Monaco starhas featured sporadically for Los Blancos this season and onlystarted twice in the league, fuelling speculation that he will move on in the next transfer window.


Several European clubs, including Manchester United,have been linked with the Colombian, famed for his audacious goals.
