Referee Isaac Osei, two other Berekum Chelsea players allegedly caught with betting slips

Ghanaian referee Isaac Osei and two other Berekum Chelsea players have been allegedly caught with betting history on their mobile phones by the FIFA/CAF integrity team.

The domestic top-flight has recently been hit with numerous betting scandals with the Ghana FA keen about getting rid of the cancer.

According to reports, the integrity team from FIFA, CAF and the Ghana FA conducted a search on referee Isaac Osei and the players where betting slips were found on their Phones.

However, referee Isaac Osei has been handed an indefinite ban by the FA in order to assist the integrity team with investigations.

Again, the two unnamed players of Berekum Chelsea have also been suspended indefinitely by the club after being caught with betting slips related to the Premier League on their phones.

Footballghana.com understands that the integrity team prior to the matchday 28 fixtures of the Ghana Premier League raided the camp of Berekum Chelsea which has been confirmed by Fredua Christopher, a management member of the club.

“It is true that our camp was raided by FIFA, CAF and GFA integrity team ahead of Great Olympics and they claimed two of our players had betting slips relating to some Ghana Premier League matches on their phones,” he told Kickgh.com

“We at Berekum Chelsea will comply to any directives from the Ghana Football Association and such acts can't be condone. We'll not shield any player(s)” he concluded.
