Richard Kingson reveals why performance of Ghanaian goalkeepers has taken a nosedive

Former Black Stars goalkeeper, Richard Kingson has noted that the performance of goalkeepers in the Ghan Premier League has taken a nosedive as a result of the inconsistencies witnessed in the last few years.

The West African country has not been able to complete a full football season in the last 3 years owing to various setbacks including an Anas Aremeyaw Anas video which shook the foundations of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Admitting that the performance of goalkeepers in the country has declined, Richard Kingson has attributed it to the inconsistencies.

"The inconsistencies that had bewildered the GPL is a major factor that has reduced the performance of goalkeepers in Ghana. Some of the goalkeepers do not make time to personally train themselves to lift their game. Unfortunately, a lot of people do not respect the goalkeepers' role in a term", the 45-year old told Angel 102.9 FM in an interview.

Kingson enjoyed a very illustrious career during his playing days where he made a name for himself during his stint with Ghana Premier League outfit Great Olympics before moving abroad.
