Richard Ofori is back in training, ready to play again after injury layoff - Orlando Pirates captain

Orlando Pirates Captain, Innocent Maela, has announced that goalkeeper Richard Ofori has returned to training with the team.

Ofori had been out of action for some time, having aggravated a knee injury during the MTN Final 8 Cup in the lead up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, which ultimately cost him a place in the Black Stars World Cup squad.

Maela expressed his delight with Ofori's return to the group and confirmed that the goalkeeper is doing very well in training.

However, Maela remained uncertain about Ofori's availability for team selection, citing limited knowledge about his exact return date.

“He is back in training and ready to go. He is doing very well at training. He is in a good space. Unfortunately, my knowledge about his availability and date of return is limited. But you know he is a good man and pretty humble” Maela said according to Soccer Laduma.

Despite Ofori's absence, Orlando Pirates have performed well this season, ranking third in the DSTV Premier League with 34 points.

However, they suffered a 0-1 defeat to bitter rivals Kaizer Chiefs, who currently sit atop the league with 56 points.
