Ghana midfielder Salis Abdul Samed is assured of playing European football next season as his side RC Lens defeated Olympique Marseille 2-1 on Saturday in the French Ligue 1.

No matter what happens in their four remaining games, they will at least play in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers.

Samed, who was absent from the match due to a suspension, will be looking forward to contributing to his team's success in European competitions next season.

Despite Samed's absence, Lens managed to secure a crucial win in the Round 34 clash at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis Park. Seko Fofana scored the opening goal for Lens in the 42nd minute, and Lois Openda doubled the lead in the 60th minute.

Dimitri Payet of Marseille reduced the deficit in the 88th minute, but the visitors could not find an equalizer in the remaining minutes of the game.

The victory places Lens in second place in the Ligue 1 standings with 72 points, three points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain, who will play against Troyes on Sunday
