Sam Allardyce Will NOT Be Questioned by Police in Football Corruption Investigation

City of Londonpolice have now begun a criminalinvestigation into the allegations of corruption and bribery surrounding English football. However, former England boss Sam Allardyce has been informed that hewill not be a subject of the proceedings.


The investigation has been opened following a review of the recent media material gathered by undercover reporters from the Telegraph, which revealed several managers and club representatives giving advice on how to bend the rules regarding player transfers.

The ex-Three Lions boss Sam Allardycewas removed from his post as head coach of the English national football teamby the FA after just 67 days in charge, following the undercover operation by theTelegraph, whichcaught the former Sunderland bossdiscussing ways to 'get around' FA rules.


However, despite his involvement in one of the biggest scandals in English football history, the 61-year-oldwill not be a part of the investigation, nor will he be questioned regarding the matter after receiving a letter from the police, according tothe Independent.

ACity of London police spokesperson also confirmed in a statementthatAllardyce 'is not part of the investigation', and that no arrests have been made at this moment in time.


The statement also said: "Detectives from the City of London Police Economic Crime Directorate have reviewed material gathered by a recent Daily Telegraph investigation into suspected corruption in football.


This review of the material has concluded and the decision has been taken to begin a criminal investigation into a single suspected offence of bribery.�
