Cameroon Football Association president, Samuel Eto'o has advised Asamoah Gyan to plan ahead if he has any dream of becoming the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
This has been disclosed by the Black Stars legend who is gearing up for his official book launch this weekend.
Recounting a conversation he had with Samuel Eto’o, Asamoah Gyan said he was told being a legend of a country alone does not guarantee you will become the FA boss in the future.
“I was on the flight with him. He told me becoming President of the FA is not just something you wake up to. He planned it for years. He said the mere fact that you are a legend won’t guarantee you the seat,” Asamoah Gyan said.
Speaking to Asaase Radio, Asamoah Gyan said while he is unsure if he wants to become GFA president one day, it is something that may happen.
“I don’t know. It might be possible. I haven’t thought about it. There are a lot of people who call me and tell me that I can be FA President one day,” Gyan said.
The legendary Ghana player is yet to retire but is currently not attached to any club.
