According to report by Tuttomercatoweb, Atalanta seem to be looking at the Liga MX to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season. The nerazzurri are in fact reportedly interested in young Uruguayan left winger Maximiliano Araujo, who currently plays for Mexican side Puebla.
Araujo, just 21 years of age, is a versatile winger who can play anywhere on the left, and Atalanta will have to beat interest from Monaco and Porto, who are in the race to sign the young Uruguayan. Another Italian club had already been linked with him back in 2019, namely Bologna, but it came to nothing. We'll see if second time is the charm to see him playing in Serie A, Atalanta are certainly trying to make that a reality. Araujo has played in 26 matches since joining Puebla in 2020, while scoring two goals for la Franja.
