Serie A Team of the Week | Round 20

Published on: 22 January 2019

Juventus did the usual beating Chievo, as Napoli won against Lazio to stay nine points behind the Bianconeri.

Roma managed to get the three points with Torino, as AC Milan did the same at Genoa.

Fiorentina and Sampdoria shared the points, just like Inter and Sassuolo.

Our Team of the Week will see the usual 3-4-3 system deployed. Let us know your thoughts!

Samir Handanovic – Inter (3 Team of the Week appearances)
A couple of decisive saves to salvage a point for the Nerazzurri.

Kevin Malcuit – Napoli
A tractor travelling up and down that right flank, delivering dangerous passes going forward and tracking back beautifully.

Gianluca Mancini – Atalanta (4 apps)
His fourth goal of the campaign and an all round solid performance. No wonder Gian Piero Gasperini said he should be considered for the National team.

Andrea Conti – AC Milan
Finally back to his best after the injury that essentially kept him away fro playing for a year. A constant threat on the right side, delivering the delicious assist for Fabio Borini’s opener.

Douglas Costa – Juventus (3 apps)
A tremendous thunder strike to break the deadlock and put Juventus on the right tracks against Chievo.

Fabian Ruiz – Napoli (5 apps)
Absolutely dominant in midfield, combining quality and strength for the whole game and going moments away from scoring hitting the post.

Nicolò Zaniolo – Roma (5 apps)
Another wonder goal, and another all round terrific performance. Simply phenomenal.

Lucas Paqueta – AC Milan
Great Serie A debut for the Brazilian: a bubbly performance, with some proper skill added to it. The woodwork stopped him from scoring, as he bossed the midfield throughout the game.

Luis Muriel – Fiorentina
What a return to Serie A! Two amazing goals against his former club, showing all his pace and dribbling skills.

Duvan Zapata – Atalanta (8 apps)
Four goals in a single match, making it 13 in seven, scoring in all of them. No words to describe his current form.

Arkadiusz Milik – Napoli (4 apps)
Hit the woodwork twice, before entertaining the San Paolo to a splendid free kick goal. Amazing technique for such a physical player.
