Quite a number of English Premier League clubs are considering making a move for Celtics full-back Jeremie Frimpong following his impressive debut season in Scotland.

The Dutch-born defender of Ghanaian descent joined the Hoops from Manchester City at the beginning of the 2019/2020 Scottish Premier League season.

Since getting the opportunity to play his first match for Celtics, he has never looked back and established himself as one of the top-performing players for the club before the season was suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

In a recent interview, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton who keenly follows Scottish football has revealed that English clubs have been monitoring Jeremy Frimpong.

“Oh, 100 per cent. That’s the scouts for you – in Scottish football they look far and wide, whether it be young players in youth teams or experienced players”, Hutton answered when he was asked if there are England teams showing interest in the 19-year-old.

He added, “That’s the way you have to be. You can find some diamonds in the rough and I think Rangers and Celtic have done very well over the past few years with them.

“He’s definitely one for the future, he’s very, very young, an exciting talent who’s only going to get better.”

Jeremie Frimpong has made 19 appearances for Celtics this season and has managed to chip in with 2 goals on top of 3 assists.
