Shafiu Mumuni targets Black Stars call-up; insist it will be a dream come true

Obuasi Ashanti Gold attacker, Shafiu Mumuni has expressed his desire to represent Ghana at the Black Stars level whiles indicating that it will honour to play for the senior national team.

The forward has been banging in the goals for the Miners in recent years and has established himself as one of the prolific and reliable strikers on the local scene.

His hat-trick last Saturday against Akonangui FC helped the Obuasi-based side to secure progression to the second round of this year’s CAF Confederations Cup.

Speaking in an interview with Fox FM, Shafiu Mumuni has shared that he is praying for a national team call-up because it will be a dream come true for him.

“It will be an honour to be called. It’ll be a dream come true for me”.

“I’m praying to get that opportunity because it’s not just anyone that gets the chance to wear the Black Stars jersey”, he shared.

He added, “I’ll be very happy if Coach Kwasi Appiah calls me”.

Up next for Shafiu and Ashgold, they will be engaging RS Berkane in the next round of the CAF Confederations Cup.
