Sint-Truiden sporting director Andre Pinto said the signing of Ghanaian forward Joselpho Barnes is an investment in the future.

The 21-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Belgian Pro League side from Latvia side FC Riga.

"Joselpho is a 1.87m tall and powerful forward who knows how to score goals. Additionally, he can also play as a winger. Whichever position he occupies, Barnes adds speed to our team," Pinto said.

"Our coach Thorsten Fink has previously worked with him during his time at Riga. He firmly believes in Barnes' qualities and talent. We trust that this transfer is an investment in the future."

Barnes is a member of the victorious Ghana U20 squad that triumphed in the U20 African Cup of Nations in 2021.

His spell at FC Riga was marked by impressive performances, with Barnes scoring seven goals in 29 matches and providing four assists.

Born and raised in Germany, Barnes is the son of former Ghanaian international Sebastian Barnes.
