Hearts of Oak captain Gladson Awako believes the departure of Slavko Matic affected the club’s season.
Samuel Boadu started the season before he was replaced by Serbian trainer in October 2022.
However, disgruntled fans of the club instigated the departure of the Serbian in March, 2023, where David Ocloo took charge until the end of the season.
Hearts of Oak ended the season in 12th position with 46 points. They also failed to win in their last five matches, losing four and drawing against Berekum.
Speaking to Akoma FM, Awako bemoaned the departure of Matic as he believes rampant change in coaches caused the Phobians last season.
“Too many changes in coaching impacted negatively on our performance last season. We started with Samuel Boadu, then later Matic who didn't last long, followed by David Ocloo. All these coaches had different philosophies which warranted time for players to adapt and this affected our performance”
