Sporting Kansas boss confirms signing of Opoku Mensah

Sporting Kansas head coach and technical director Peter Vermes has attested that they have acquired Ghanaian forward William Opoku Mensah but the striker is not ready for first team football.

The Sporting Kansas boss hinted that the Karela FC attacker will be shipped to developmental side Swope Park Rangers in the USL for him to build up before bringing him to the MLS.

“It is true we have signed striker William Opoku Mensah but he is a Swope Park Rangers target, not a first team target,” Vermes told Thebluestatement.

Opoku Mensah, 23, netted six goals in fourteen league games for Karela last season before the Ghana Premier League was suspended.

He was a target of Kumasi Asante Kotoko before he chose to move to US.
