Spurs Boss Mauricio Pochettino Hints at First-Team Role for Kazaiah Sterling Next Season

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has tipped 18-year-old striker Kazaiah Sterling to earn a place in the first-team next season.

There had been talk of loaning out the teenager, but Pochettino believes training with prolific striker Harry Kane would have more of a benefit on his developmentthan moving him out on loan.

Sterling is the latest of a long-list of youngsters to emerge from Tottenham's ranks, and although the likes ofRyan Mason and Andros Townsend have been sold,Cameron Carter-Vickers, Marcus Edwards, Joshua Onomah and Sterling have all been tipped for bright futures in north-London.

Pochettino admitted that it would be hard to find the right club to loan Sterling out to, as the club would have a completely different footballing philosophy.

It means every day there is an under-18 striker training with Harry Kane, said Pochettino, as quoted in theEvening Standard.

Delighted for @ksterling_98 who told me last month Kane was his inspiration. Next season he'll train alongside him. https://t.co/op4qqQQQb9

There is no better teacher to learn from. Where would we send him? It would be a completely different philosophy.

If you don't have the opportunity to train every day with the first team, it is true it is good to grow up in another place and come back. But here we try to provide the facility to train with the first team for any player who can cope with the pressure,

Sterling scored nine goals in 21 games for Tottenham's youth team last season and has continued to excel this time around.
