Spurs Striker Reveals FA Cup Opponents Millwall 'Turned Him Into a Man' Ahead of FA Cup Battle

Published on: 09 March 2017

High-flying Tottenham striker Harry Kane has revealed the huge debt he owes to Millwall as the two teams go head-to-head in the last FA Cup game at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Kane was still a teenager when he slotted home nine goals in 24 starts at The Den during a loan spell with Millwall in the second half of the 2011-12 Championship campaign.

Now a Premier League forward, the 23-year-old looks to dump his former club out despite admitting he owes the Lions a huge part of his development as both a player and a man.

It was big part of my development, said Kane, reported the Daily Star.

I had a great time at Millwall, I enjoyed my loan spell there. I was 18 at the time, playing in the Championship, we were in a relegation battle and it really, probably turned me into a man.

Playing in difficult, high pressure games and I managed to come out of it positively. It will be interesting to play them again. A lot has changed since I left, but I'm looking forward to it.

The League one side head to White Hart Lane searching for a fourth Premier League upset after dispatching Bournemouth, Watford and Leicester already in the competition.

However, Kane will be a major obstacle having scored a hat-trick in his only previous FA Cup game this season and is looking forward to a classic cup encounter.

The atmosphere is going to be amazing, of course being a quarter-final as well, added Kane. It's a big game. The fans have been fantastic, it's important we win, get to the semi-final and see who we get.
