Stoke City Goalkeeper Jack Butland Gives Update on His Ankle Injury

Published on: 05 February 2017

Stoke City stopper Jack Butland has given an update on the status of his ankle injury, and is happy with his progress as he continues on the road to recovery.

The 23-year-old has been out of action since fracturing his ankle during a friendly match for England against Germany back in March of 2016.

Butland looked set to be England's No.1 for the Euros last year, but the untimely setback left him ruing a missed opportunity.

He was also expected to play in the Potters' first game of the season against Middlesbrough, but aggravated the ankle only to undergo surgery.

The keeper was understandably frustrated with the circumstances, but after his latest visit to a specialist, he seems to be in a brighter mood.

His tweet on Monday read: "On the way back from seeing my ankle specialist, really happy because he's very pleased with how my ankle is looking, now to kick on ï’ªï¼ï'ï¼ï˜ƒ"

Whether or not he will return to playing this season is still uncertain, but the player seems to be pleased with the way things are going at the moment.
