Antoine Semenyo of Bristol City celebrates after scoring a goal to make it 1-2 - Rogan/JMP - 29/01/2022 - Deepdale - Preston, England - Preston North End v Bristol City - Sky Bet Championship.

England-based Ghanaian forward, Antoine Semenyo is set to be named in the Black Stars squad for the first phase of the qualifiers for the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Bristol City striker was handed his maiden national team call-up in March when Ghana had to lock horns with Nigeria in the playoff round of the qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Unfortunately, an injury he suffered meant that he missed his shot and could not honour the invite.

With a strong end to the 2021/22 football season in England, Antoine Semenyo is still in the good books of the technical team of the Black Stars.

Close sources are now reporting to your most trusted Ghanaian football portal that the striker has been included in Ghana’s squad for the first phase of the AFCON qualifiers.

The Black Stars in June will take on Madagascar and the Central African Republic to try and get off to a good start in the qualifiers.
