Sulley Muntari joins Spanish side Albacete Balompié

Ghana midfielder, Sulley Muntari has sealed a deal with Spanish LaLiga promotion chasers Albacete Balompié on transfer deadline day.

The 34-year-old Uefa Champions League winner had been without a club since ending his brief stint with another Spanish club, Deportivo La Coruna last summer.

Muntari, who during his prime also featured for the likes of Udinese, Portsmouth, Inter Milan and AC Milan, gets another go at club football in the Spanish second tier for the next six months.

“Muntari is a player with a long career that will bring us experience, professionalism and maximum involvement,” said Albacete club president Mauro Pérez.

Currently at 4 th position after 23 matches, Albacete are only two points behind Granada who sit top of the 23-team 2018/19 LaLiga.

Sulley Muntari’s deal has an automatic renewal for a full season in the event of Albacete’s promotion to the LaLiga.
