Sulley Muntari wants to play in South Africa - Agent claims

Former Black Stars midfielder, Sulley Muntari is open to play in the PSL in South Africa.

The 39 year old has been without a club after leaving Spanish side Albacete in June 2019.

Despite training Liberty Professionals, the former AC Milan star has been linked to Hearts of Oak.

According to his agent, Sipho Shaven, Muntari is interested in playing in the South African league next season and has tasked his agent to speak to PSL clubs.

“He has given me the mandate to talk to clubs in South Africa. He is very keen to play in the PSL next season”, Shaven told KickOff.com.

“I will be engaging with a few clubs in the next few days to see if there is a chance to bring him to South Africa next season.

“Remember, our league is well respected on the continent and a high-profile player will not turn down an opportunity to play in the PSL.

“He is currently training with Liberty in his home country to keep himself fit. He is a free agent.”

Clubs such as Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and SuperSports United are said to be the likeliest clubs Shaven will be speaking to.

Months ago, it was rumoured that Ghanaian giants, Accra Hearts of Oak have reached an agreement with Muntari to play for the Phobians but nothing has since happened.
