With the resignation of Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro on March 1, he became the eleventh coach out of the 24 originally selected for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to leave their job, causing another major change in the coaching scene of African football.

Peseiro's departure adds to the list of notable names who have bid goodbye to their coaching roles after the 2023 AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast. The list of coaches who are no longer in office after the tournament includes popular figures such as Rui Vitória, Rigobert Song, Jalel Kadri, Tom Saintfiet, Adel Amrouche, and Djamel Belmadi.

Jean-Louis Gasset's departure from his role as the coach of the host nation Ivory Coast came after a mutual agreement following a disappointing 4-0 defeat at the hands of Equatorial Guinea in their Group A encounter.

The list further extends with the departures of Baciro Candé, Hubert Velud, and Chris Hughton.
