Supposed Andre Ayew friend claims Black Stars captain's name was intentionally left out of Ghana vs Angola team sheet

Ben Osei Bonsu, a supposed friend of Andre Ayew, has claimed the name of the Black Stars captain was intentionally left of the Ghana team sheet for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying first leg clash against Angola.

He described the excuse that new Black Stars team manager Ameenu Shardow forgot to include Andre's name in the list for the game as "flimsy", alledging that there were underhand workings behind his friend's name missing on the team sheet.

“What we heard was that the Team Manager of the Black Stars, Ameenu Shardow, forgot to include the name of Andre Ayew in the matchday squad for the game,” he told Asempa FM.

“Some of these excuses are flimsy and it is not proper for us to make it go like that. It is very sad but we should eschew politics from our football. We should know how to manage things when we belong to a different camp.

"We are all trying to take out unnecessary tension and politics from our Black Stars. But, if some of these things won’t stop it won’t help us,” he added.

Andre Ayew did not get any minutes in the first leg in Kumasi and did not travel to Luanda with the Black Stars for the reverse fixture.
