The Sports Director at SV Ried, Wolfgang Fiala has admitted that the club is unable to match the demands of out-of-contract defender Kennedy Boateng.

The Ghanaian international saw his contract with the Austrian Bundesliga outfit expire at the end of the 2020/2021 football season.

Although there have been talks with his representatives over the possibility of renewing, it now appears no agreement can be reached.

According to Wolfgang Fiala who is the Sports Director at SC Ried, they made an offer to Kennedy Boateng already for a renewal of his contract. However, due to his high demand, they may not be able to sign him for next season.

“We made him a very fair offer. But we can't keep up with his demands," the SV Ried director told OÖN.

Since joining SV Ried in 2017, Kennedy Boateng has gone on to make 113 appearances for the club.

The 24-year-old is now a free agent and should decide his next destination in the opened summer transfer window.
