Karela United coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko has opened up on the Ghana Premier League relegation battle.

The Pride of the West has moved up on the table after beating Real Tamale United in week 28 of the Ghana Premier League.

Karela United inflicted a 1-0 win over the Tamale-based club on Thursday night, courtesy, Evans Adomako’s strike.

After the game, Tanko, who is a former coach of RTU expressed his joy with the victory but says the battle continues unabated.

“For the first time ever, I’m the most happiest person for now. Definitely, they’ve played and then we’ve won the match. The battle continues unabated. I’m from here, coached them before and knows what is happening”

“As far as I am concern, first goal unsettles RTU, they get disorganized and try to redeem themselves because the fans will be on them and that alone will put more pressure on them from them not being able to play” he said.

Karela United are presently 14th on the league table with 35 points after 28 matches into the season.
