The individualistic play of my players led to the 2-1 defeat to RTU – Coach Ogum

The head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prosper Narteh Ogum has disclosed that his team suffered the defeat to Real Tamale United over the weekend because players failed to play for each other.

The Porcupine Warriors faced RTU at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Sunday afternoon but lost 2-1 after an unimpressive showing.

Speaking to StarTimes in his post-match interview, Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum was unhappy.

He said the players were too individualistic on the field of play and lost focus in crucial moments.

“I think they lost their focus on the field, most of the things that they were doing especially with the ball were not the things that they were supposed to do."

“They were too individualistic on the field, most of the players didn’t play as a unit, as a team and I think that actually affected us,” the Asante Kotoko head coach said.

Coach Ogum continued, "If you look at the penalty we conceded, it was not necessary, I mean the tackle from Patrick Asmah was not necessary."

Despite the defeat, Asante Kotoko remains top of the Ghana Premier League table.
