Professor Peter Twumasi, the director general of the National Sports Authority (NSA), says that Black Stars coach Chris Hughton told him the pitch at Baba Yara Sports Stadium is one of the best he has ever seen.
Ghana took Angola on Thursday and the players struggled to move the ball quicker on the pitch. However, Mr. Twumasi said the pitch was up to standard and the facility met all requirements.
Ghana beat Angola 1-0 thanks to a late strike from substitute Antoine Semenyo.
“[for] a facility to be accepted for such a game, it means it would have met all the requirements and that’s what actually happened," he Joy FM’s Game Plan on Friday.
“A lot of things go into getting a facility like this ready for a match of this nature; the pitch is one, the whole environment, dressing room and many other things,"
“I think for yesterday [Thursday], it was excellent. All these met the mark that’s why we were able to have the game there,"
