In the wake of their disheartening defeat against Morocco in the 2023 AFCON U-23 tournament, the resilient players of the national U-23 team have shown an unchanged determination to bounce back as they shift their focus to the crucial upcoming clash against Guinea.

Echoing the team's indomitable spirit, the Deputy Sports Minister emphasizes that the players have put their previous setback firmly behind them, ready to rise from the ashes and seize victory in this pivotal encounter.

The game against Guinea will be played at the Grand Stade Tanger this evening at 8:00 GMT.

"The country is so desperate for a cup because if you come to our national team since 1982 everybody knows that Ghana has not been able to win a cup in terms of our football," he told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"Then you come to since the under-20 won the World Cup in Egypt since that time too we haven't been able to win the World Cup. This U-20 our last participation was 2004 and since then we have not been able to qualify. So everybody was hoping that this tournament in Rabat, Morocco will go well we won our first game against Congo and the second game against Morocco was a disaster,"

"But I want to appeal to every Ghanaian to put the Morocco match behind them. Because yesterday we had an engagement with the players and they have put the match behind them and they are preparing against Guinea in our last match. Hopefully if we beat them we will qualify for the next stage this is what I want every Ghanaian to focus on,"
